When The New SLC Airport opens in September 2020, it will be unforgettable for a number of reasons. There will be less congestion—both curbside and at the gates—there will be plenty of places to plug-in, plus noteworthy shops and restaurants. But perhaps what will remain with passengers long after their flights have departed are the art installations planned for the new facility.

Flight For Autism Takes Off June 22
Flying can be overwhelming for children who are uncomfortable with new situations and unfamiliar surroundings. The “Taking Flight for Autism,” program is designed to acclimate children to the airport environment and practice procedures to help them become more comfortable when traveling by air.
Airport personnel will demonstrate the process for flight check-in, security screening and boarding a Delta Air Lines plane. In addition, a full flight crew will simulate a flight. As part of the program, families will be able to orient their children to the noise and sensations of the airport and the flight experience.
