SLC Santa Express Departs on Saturday, Dec. 1

Patients from Primary Children’s and Shriners Hospitals will be treated to a unique opportunity on Saturday when they board a Boeing 757 and depart to their final destination—Santa’s Winter Wonderland. The plane will taxi to the Delta hangar, which will be transformed into a magical place where the children can enjoy crafts, have their photo taken by a jet engine and visit with Santa—who will have a special gift selected just for them. Santa’s elves, sports team mascots and cheerleaders—and the Coca-Cola Bear—will be on hand to join in on the festivities.

SLC Airport Expects Increased Travel During Fall Break

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is expecting an increase in the number of passengers Oct. 17, 18 and 19, during the Utah Education Association (UEA) Fall Break. Upwards of 28,000 passengers each day are expected to travel through the airport during this time.

SLC International Airport opens 12 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is doing its part to clear the air and has installed 24 electric vehicle (EV) charging ports for public and employee use. The 12 EV charging stations are dual port, Level 2 with standard connectors to accommodate all models of electric vehicles.

Taking Flight For Autism Program Coming June 16

Flying can be overwhelming for children who are uncomfortable with new situations and unfamiliar surroundings. The “Taking Flight for Autism,” program is designed to acclimate children to the airport environment and practice procedures to help them become more comfortable when traveling by air. Airport personnel will demonstrate the process for flight check-in, security screening and boarding a Delta Airlines aircraft. In addition, a full flight crew will simulate a flight. As part of the program, families will be able to orient their children to the noise and sensations of the airport and the flight experience.

Procurement Process to Lease Space at The NewSLC To Launch

The public procurement process to select concessions for The New SLC Redevelopment Program is about to begin.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) for the first phase of The New SLC will be posted in early April on the Salt Lake City’s purchasing webpage at http://www.slcgov.com/purchasing. The first RFP will be for retail, news and gifts.
