SLC Airport to Announce Restaurants Selected for The New SLC

The Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA) will be announcing the food and beverage component for the first phase of The New SLC Redevelopment Program, coming in September of 2020. SLCDA went through the city’s procurement process resulting in the selection of a number of companies that will build and operate 23 concepts, including local and national brands.

Mayor Biskupski Visits Federal Workers at SLC Airport

Federal workers at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) had lunch courtesy of Mayor Jackie Biskupski today. Mayor Biskupski provided pizza for workers from Customs and Boarder Protection (CBP), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to thank them for their ongoing service and to help boost morale during the government shutdown.

Gary Sinise Foundation Hosts Official Send-off Celebration for its Snowball Express Program

The holidays can be especially challenging for grieving families of fallen military heroes. On December 8, 2018, the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Snowball Express program will host a five-day experience for 1,722 children of the fallen, including their surviving parent or guardian. This therapeutic retreat will offer fun and inspiring programs, encouraging critical peer-to-peer support for these families.

SLC Santa Express Departs on Saturday, Dec. 1

Patients from Primary Children’s and Shriners Hospitals will be treated to a unique opportunity on Saturday when they board a Boeing 757 and depart to their final destination—Santa’s Winter Wonderland. The plane will taxi to the Delta hangar, which will be transformed into a magical place where the children can enjoy crafts, have their photo taken by a jet engine and visit with Santa—who will have a special gift selected just for them. Santa’s elves, sports team mascots and cheerleaders—and the Coca-Cola Bear—will be on hand to join in on the festivities.
