SLC International Airport Forecasts Busy Holiday Travel Season

Statement Related to Industrial Accident on SLC Airport Property
The Salt Lake City Department of Airports can confirm that an accident has occurred as part of the construction program. The site of the incident is in an isolated part of the airport campus and the site is secure. The airport will release more details as available and appropriate.

New UTA TRAX Airport Station to Open on Oct. 25, 2021
UTA and partners will celebrate the opening of the new Airport Station, which extends TRAX to the new airport terminal. Dignitaries will arrive on a special TRAX train for the ribbon cutting. The celebration will mark the culmination of the 20-month construction project extending TRAX to The New SLC.

Procurement Process to Lease Retail and Restaurant Space at The New SLC Phase 2 Underway
The public procurement process to select concessions for The New SLC Phase 2 is now underway, which includes the 22 gate extension of Concourse A. The first four Delta gates will open in spring of 2023, followed by the addition of 18 Delta gates opening in the fall of 2023.

SLC International to Mark First 365 Days
One year ago on Sept. 15, 2020, the Salt Lake City Department of Airports opened the first phase of The New SLC, which included a new parking garage, terminal and Concourse A-west. Six weeks later on Oct. 27, the remainder of Phase 1 was unveiled with the opening of Concourse B-west. The SLCDA Executive Director Bill Wyatt will join Mayor Erin Mendenhall on Sept. 15, 2021, to mark the first 365 days and announce a national sustainability award.
