The Salt Lake City Department of Airports and the Salt Lake Arts Council have a new opportunity for artists to showcase their work in The New SLC Airport opening fall of 2020.
The New SLC Art Wall will be located in the TSA security checkpoint, which means more than 25 million passengers going through the airport screening each year will see the artwork. The installation will be approximately 30 x 11 feet.
The artwork should speak to the spirit, culture, people and context of Utah. Artists responding to the Request for Qualifications must demonstrate a proficiency in executing work on a similar scope and scale. The deadline for submissions is April 17, 2019. The artwork must be original and one-of-a-kind. Due to the location of the installation, the artwork must be highly durable and low maintenance.
