The Salt Lake City Department of Airports is preparing to open Phase 3 of The New SLC Redevelopment Program, which includes the Central Tunnel, Concourse B Plaza, 12 concessions and, initially, five Delta Air Lines gates. The Grand Junction Regional Airport is excited for the return of Delta Air Lines flights, operated by SkyWest Airlines, beginning Dec. 3, 2024. These direct flights to Salt Lake City International Airport will restore nonstop connectivity between the two destinations and provide Grand Junction travelers with expanded hub connectivity. The Salt Lake City Department of Airports is hosting an invitation-only “Blue Tie Gala” event four years after opening Phase 1 of The New SLC. The pandemic prevented the airport from hosting a Black Tie Gala in fall 2020, so the Blue Tie Gala will provide an opportunity for staff involved in the Airport Redevelopment Program along with community leaders to celebrate four years later. The World Map graced the floor of Terminal 1 in the former airport for 60 years. It was created from a design by Dallas stoneworker Julius Bartoli based on drawings by Ashton, Evans & Brazier. The World Map was a source of delight and wonder for thousands of people from all over the world for many years. Today American Express (NYSE: AXP) announced plans to open a new Centurion® Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). American Express is the first credit card issuer to announce plans to open a proprietary lounge at SLC. Oct 15 2024
