The Salt Lake City Department of Airports held a ribbon cutting this morning to mark the opening of 10 new gates and six additional concessions as part of The New SLC Redevelopment Program. The new gates will house arrivals and departures for Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines. The Salt Lake City International Airport is planning a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of 10 additional gates, six more concessions and new lounges as part of The New SLC Redevelopment Program. Phase 1 of The New SLC opened in September 2020, followed by the opening of Phase 2 in October in 2023, and Phase 3 in October 2024. The final phase of 11 gates and six concessions will open in October 2026. The Salt Lake City International Airport has organized a food pantry to assist federal employees who are not being paid during the federal government shutdown. These workers include Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) workers. The Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA), in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration, is seeking public comments on a draft Environmental Assessment to evaluate Southern Infrastructure Improvements, which include the proposed relocation of the surplus canal along with other enhancements on the south end of the airfield. The Salt Lake City International Airport and Delta Air Lines are celebrating the launch of the first nonstop flight to Incheon International Airport in South Korea. Salt Lake City passengers will now be able to connect to more than 50 destinations throughout Asia, including Bangkok, Manila, Shanghai and Singapore.
