Aviation Facilities Company (AFCO), a leading U.S. airport infrastructure and airport facilities development firm, has entered a long-term ground lease with the Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA) for a new cargo facility in a public-private partnership at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Under the proposed structure, AFCO will develop, lease, and manage a state-of-the-art, multi-tenant cargo facility spanning both airside and landside operations. The 2025 ASQ Customer Experience Awards program has recognized Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) with three “Best” awards as part of its annual program. More than 400 airports from 110 countries participated in the program. Volaris continues to expand its international network in the United States with the launch of a new nonstop route between Guadalajara, Mexico, and Salt Lake City, Utah. The new service to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) will begin operations on June 1, with three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Tickets will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, Feb. 3. The Salt Lake City International Airport has been included in a list released by the Federal Aviation Administration of U.S. airports that may experience a reduction in flights beginning Nov. 7, 2025.
