Disabled Veteran Parking

As of July 1, 2024, the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLCIA) is offering complimentary parking for vehicles that display a Utah Disabled Veteran license plate issued by the Utah Department of Motor Vehicles as pictured below. 

The following are available options. (Please note that restrictions and limitations may apply.) 

Parking Garage: 
Five days of complimentary parking when space is available, any days beyond five will be charged at the posted daily garage rate. When planning to park longer than 30 consecutive days, contact slcairport@spplus.com or 801-575-2887 or your vehicle will be considered abandoned. 

Economy Parking: 
Ten days of complimentary parking when space is available, any days beyond ten will be charged at the posted daily economy rate. When planning to park longer than 30 consecutive days, contact slcairport@spplus.com or 801-575-2887 or your vehicle will be considered abandoned.

Exiting the Airport:
When using the Disabled Veteran Parking Program either proceed to the cashier lane location to the far left of the parking booths, or if using one of the credit/debit lanes, push the call button and ask an attendant to validate your vehicle information to apply the Disabled Veteran Parking discount.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I'm eligible to receive Disabled Veteran Complimentary Parking at SLCIA?Vehicles displaying Utah license plates issued by the Utah Department of Motor Vehicles, having a Disabled Veteran (DV) designation may receive complimentary parking at SLCIA. The eligible license plate must be visible and affixed to the rear bumper of the vehicle at the time of exiting the parking facility to receive complimentary parking. Temporary license plates are not accepted under the Disabled Veteran Parking Program.

Does my Disabled Veteran designated license plate allow me to park in handicapped spaces at the Airport?
Utah Tax Code Section 41-1a-414 does not provide handicapped parking space privileges for the Disabled Veteran license plate, a disabled windshield placard must be obtained/displayed separately.

Are my friends and family eligible for Disabled Veteran Complimentary Parking at SLCIA when they are driving my vehicle displaying an eligible license plate?
The registered owner of the vehicle displaying Disabled Veteran (DV) designated license plates must be present at the time of exit to be eligible for any complimentary parking at SLCIA. If the registered owner is not present at the time of exit, a parking validation may not be granted. The Disabled Veteran Complimentary Parking Program does not extend to car sharing services, such as Turo.

I work at the SLCIA and have eligible Designated Veteran license plates. Am I eligible for Disabled Veteran Complimentary parking when reporting to work? 
Airport employees who are parking for work purposes at SLCIA may not use the Disabled Veteran Complimentary Parking Program. All airport employees including, but not limited to, terminal concessionaires and airline employees must sign up for Employee Monthly Parking to park their vehicle at the Airport for work purposes. Airport employees may only use the designated Employee Parking area when reporting to work.

I didn't receive the Disabled Veteran Complimentary Parking at the time of exit. Can I request a refund?
If you did not receive the Disabled Veteran Complimentary Parking at the time of exit, please contact slcairport@spplus.com or 801-575-2887 within 30 days of the exit date. Refund requests beyond 30 days of the original transaction date will not be honored.

Can I use a Disabled Veteran Parking Validation on a Frequent Parker Program transaction
Parking validations cannot be applied to Frequent Parker Program transactions.
