Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is proud to partner with airport concessionaires to make the passenger travel experience more sustainable. Through the SLC Green Concessions Program, concessionaires across the airport are taking action to reduce waste, conserve resources and support the health of our community.

Our Focus Areas

The SLC Green Concessions Program encourages concessionaires to take meaningful steps to do the following:

Waste Reduction & Diversion - cutting down on single-use plastics and replacing them with compostable, biodegradable or reusable products.

Energy Efficiency - upgrading to efficient equipment, LED lighting and reducing unnecessary energy use.

Water Conservation - adopting water-saving practices in kitchens.

Air Quality & Emissions - using non-toxic products, sourcing locally and supporting clean air efforts.

Social Responsibility - providing healthy menu options, employee wellness programs and community engagement.

Innovation - piloting new ideas to make airport concessions even greener.

Why It Matters

Every airport concessionaire that participates signs a pledge to operate more sustainably and undergoes a bi-annual certification process with the airport’s sustainability team. That means when passengers choose to shop or dine at a SLC Green Concessions certified concessionaire, they are supporting businesses that care about people, the planet and the future of travel.

Look for the Seal

Certified SLC Green Concessions display the SLC Green Concessions Seal, so travelers can easily spot and support businesses leading the way in sustainability. Together, we’re working to make SLC a healthier, greener and more responsible airport; one meal, one purchase, and one trip at a time.
