Salt Lake City Police Department Airport Bureau

The SLCPD Airport Bureau is responsible for law enforcement at Salt Lake City International Airport. This includes close cooperation with various federal, state and local agencies.

SLCPD Airport Bureau officers support federal security directives and initiatives, airline security programs and passenger screening, enforce airport rules and regulations on the airfield and within secured areas, and assist with traffic and crowd control.

The bureau is headed by a chief, assisted by a captain and two lieutenants. There are a number of specialty sections, including: patrol (and bicycle patrol), detectives, K-9 explosive detection teams, SWAT, EOD and training.
