South Valley Regional Airport
South Valley Regional Airport (U42) currently supports business-related flying, law enforcement/fire/rescue flying services, recreational flying, flight training, and air charters. A Utah National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility is housed on the airfield.
South Valley Regional Airport is located approximately 13.5 miles south of Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) at 7365 South 4450 West, West Jordan, Utah.
Interstates 15 and 215 intersect approximately four miles east of the Airport, and Bangerter Highway (S.H. 154) is located less than one mile to the east. South Valley Regional Airport is operated with one runway, oriented in a general north-south direction, along with the supporting parallel taxiway system.
4,603 feet above mean sea level (MSL)
The single runway 16/34 is 5,862 feet in length and 100 feet in width. The runway is constructed of asphalt and has a gross weight bearing capacity of 30,000 pounds for single-wheel and 43,000 pounds for double-wheel main landing gear configuration. The runway is equipped with pilot-controlled medium intensity runway lights (MIRL) and four light precision approach path indicators (PAPIs) located on the left-hand side of each runway end. In addition, each end of the runway is also equipped with runway end identifier lights (REILs).
Automated Weather Observing System information for South Valley Regional is continuously available at 801-562-0271.
The primary landside area at the airport consists of a linear layout, running north to south along the west side. Facilities include the Utah National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility, fixed base operator (FBO) facilities, maintenance hangar facilities, aircraft parking aprons (100 aircraft tie-down spaces), general aviation aircraft storage hangars (total combination of 155 T-hangars and shade hangars managed by the Salt Lake City Department of Airports), fuel storage facilities and access roadways. The Salt Lake City Department of Airports sells both jet A and 100 low-lead aviation gasoline. Aircraft maintenance facilities are available on the airfield.
The Salt Lake City Department of Airports is currently providing fueling, ground handling, aircraft storage/parking and ground power (GPU) services at South Valley Regional Airport. A third party maintenance provider, Advantage Aviation, and flight school, Randon Aviation, are also available.
