Economic Impact Study

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is a major asset for Salt Lake City and the State of Utah. It is also a critical component of the national air transportation network and a major employment center and economic engine for the region. A report titled, Economic Impact of Salt Lake City International Airport, was conducted by the Salt Lake City Department of Airports and Jviation and released in July 2020. The report provides estimates of the airport’s economic impacts on the state’s economy. Pre-pandemic, SLC supported an estimated 124,407 total jobs with an associated annual payroll of approx. $4.3 billion. In addition, SLC supported total annual spending of $7.2 billion and had a total annual economic activity estimated at about $11.5 billion. Click here to read the report.
