The Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA) is conducting a full-scale emergency exercise the morning of Thursday, May 28 to test its emergency response plan. The Federal Aviation Administration requires airports to conduct a full-scale drill every three years. Memorial Day weekend is the traditional kick-off to summer travel, and passengers should plan ahead when traveling through Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Starting on May 11, Salt Lake City International will begin repaving the Terminal Drive lanes exiting the airport. All travelers leaving the airport—whether via private or public vehicles—will be impacted by the repaving project and should prepare for possible delays. SkyShare, a leading private aviation company known for delivering efficient, cost-effective, personal flight solutions, proudly announced it has been selected as the new Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at South Valley Regional Airport (SVR) in West Jordan, Utah. Aviation Facilities Company (AFCO), a leading U.S. airport infrastructure and airport facilities development firm, has entered a long-term ground lease with the Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA) for a new cargo facility in a public-private partnership at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Under the proposed structure, AFCO will develop, lease, and manage a state-of-the-art, multi-tenant cargo facility spanning both airside and landside operations. May 26 2026
