This project will include design and construction of a new aircraft deicing pad support facility at the end of Runway 34L. Work will include site grading, site utilities, site paving, glycol truck fueling facilities, glycol dispencing facilities, and construction of a support building. The support building will include deicing pad control facilities, glycol storage/mixing facilities, a locker room, a break room, and offices for deicing personnel. Bid documents are anticipated to be available mid February 2013 pending approval from Airport legal counsel of contract documents to include an ordinance amending Section 3.24.115, Salt Lake City Code, to clarify application of bid criteria for City funded building improvement and Public Works projects.

Work will include site grading, site utilities, site paving, glycol truck fueling facilities, glycol dispencing facilities, and construction of a support building. The support building will include deicing pad control facilities, glycol storage/mixing facilities, a locker room, a break room, and offices for deicing personnel. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on May 8, 2013. The bid opening for this project is scheduled for May 29, 2013.

6/20/13
This project will include design and construction of a new aircraft deicing pad support facility at the end of Runway 34L. Work will include site grading, site utilities, site paving, glycol truck fueling facilities, glycol dispencing facilities, and construction of a support building. The support building will include deicing pad control facilities, glycol storage/mixing facilities, a locker room, a break room, and offices for deicing personnel. The bid opening for this project was held on May 29, 2013. Bids are currently being evaluated.

9/12/13
A notice to proceed for this project was issued to Allstate Construction on July 29, 2013. Structural fill has been placed and compacted. The contractor has completed 85% of the excavation for the footings. Submittals are currently being prepared by the contractor for review and approval by the Airport.

10/10/13
The contractor has placed the footings and foundation for the west side of the building and has started excavating the footings for the glycol tanks. Rough-in underground plumbing for the office area of the building is currently in progress. Power conduits on the north side of the building have been installed.

01/08/14
The Contractor is currently working on placement of the steel structure and is installing site utilities. The canopy framing is completed. The placement of the concrete for the tank footings is completed. Installation of the fire sprinklers is 80% complete. The glycol tanks are scheduled to arrive January 20, 2014.

2/13/14
The contractor has completed placement of the steel structure for the office area. The steel structure for the tank area has been installed. Glycol and water tanks have been installed. The framing of the office area walls is on-going. The contractor continues with plumbing, mechanical and electrical rough-ins.

3/13/14
The contractor has installed the diesel tank and has placed the floor slab in the glycol storage tank room. The installation of the roof is currently taking place. Rough-in plumbing, electrical and mechanical work is on-going. The civil portion of the project includes installation of water lines and storm drains. This work will begin as weather permits.

4/14/14
The Contractor is grading the site for the roadways and parking lot. The glycol lines are being installed. The fire sprinkler system work in the building has begun. Other on-going work includes window and door installation and installation of the sewer holding tank. The roof is approximately 95% complete.

5/14/14
The Contractor continues with the grading for the roadways and parking lot. The glycol lines are being installed. The catwalks are approximately 80% complete. The roof and sheetrock installation is 90% complete.
