In March 1997, the Salt Lake City ARFF Training Center opened its doors to Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters (ARFF) from around the world as the first FAA approved ARFF Training Center in the Western United States. The Salt Lake City ARFF Training Center provides safe and realistic fire training for airport based firefighters. As one of the only a handful of propane-based fire training centers in the world, our facility features a full scale aircraft mock-up for continuous evolutions scenarios. Our simulator allows for interior and exterior training and includes a multitude of various fires. Exterior fires include spill fires, leaking fuel fires, engine fires, wheel fires and baggage compartment fires. Interior fires include cockpit, galley, seating compartment, lavatory and cargo area fires.
